The starting point
Emma Allen founded Active Property Investing in 2014. Her team has spent twelve years helping investors build wealth through new property, with a research process that only 16% of properties make it through, a 5-star rating across 160+ Google reviews and more than eight industry awards.
Her website showed none of that. The homepage headline read “Shaping your financial future,” a line that could have belonged to any bank, planner or super fund. A visitor couldn’t tell who API helped or why they should choose them.
API’s best qualifying tool sat out of sight too. Emma used a readiness scale to understand each investor’s position, but her team only worked through it after a strategy call. Prospects arrived at that call cold, and people who weren’t ready yet had nowhere to go.
Who we built it for
We started by agreeing who API serves best: busy professionals who want to build wealth through property but don’t have the time or know-how to do it alone. Every page, tool and email was written for that reader.
A hero that names the reader
Each line has a job. The eyebrow sets credibility. “Build wealth through property” names the outcome. “Without needing to be a property expert” answers the main reason busy professionals hold back. The subheadline names the reader and gives a concrete reason to trust the method. A visitor knows who API is for, what they’ll get and why it’s achievable within three seconds.
The rest of the site carries the same message. Straight after the hero, API promises clients can stay focused on their career while their property strategy keeps moving forward.
A page for each of Emma’s core clients
On our strategy call, Emma defined the clients API serves best: established investors, aspiring investors, women building wealth and rentvestors. We checked how each group searches on Google, then gave every group a page of its own.
Each page is written entirely for its audience. The rentvesting page opens with “Rent where you live, invest where you grow,” then shows four types of people it suits, from the time-poor professional to the growing family who wants to stay in their school zone. Its FAQs answer the questions rentvestors actually ask, like how much of the work falls on them and whether they’ll need to fly interstate to inspect a property. A visitor reads the page and sees their own situation described back to them.
The readiness scale became the Investor Quiz
We moved Emma’s back-office readiness scale to the front of the website and turned it into the Investor Quiz. In about five minutes, visitors get a personal summary of where they stand and the next move most worth making.
Every result does two jobs. Emma receives a short summary of each prospect’s position and goals, so she walks into every strategy call already knowing who she’s talking to. And each person is placed in the right Mailchimp audience automatically.
Leads kept warm until they’re ready
Prospects who aren’t ready for a strategy call move onto the Active Investor Path, a tailored Mailchimp journey that sends them useful resources and keeps API front of mind. When they’re ready to talk, they already know and trust the team.
A branded page for every referral partner
Referral partners are a key source of clients for API, so each partner has a landing page branded for them, with a headline like “[Partner] opens the door for API.” The page leads with that partner’s own testimonial about working with API, followed by stories from API’s clients.
Every partner link carries a referral tag, so Mailchimp records who sent each enquiry. Emma can see where her leads come from and credit the right partner.
SIA, an assistant on call around the clock
Busy professionals often have questions long after the office has closed. SIA, API’s Strategic Investment Assistant, answers them on the website using API’s own content, so answers stay in line with how the team advises clients. When someone is ready for the next step, SIA points them to the Investor Quiz or a strategy call.
Conversion points for every stage
Visitors who are ready can take the quiz or book a strategy call from almost any page. Those still exploring have softer options: ebooks, webinar sign ups, Emma’s published books, the podcast and monthly Property Letters.
Built to be found and trusted
A dedicated founder page and an awards and press page build trust with visitors and give Google and AI assistants clear, structured information about who API is and why they’re credible. When someone asks an AI tool who to trust with property investing, API’s website gives it the answers.
Measuring what works
API had no analytics before the rebuild, so there was no way to see where visitors came from or what they did. We set up Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. Emma can now see which pages bring people in, what they search to find API, and which paths lead to a quiz or a strategy call.
A design system that keeps everything on brand
Every page, email and guide follows one design system. It also powers a design engine that turns Emma’s written drafts into finished, branded ebooks, so API can publish its knowledge without designing each one from scratch.
The blog works the same way. All the styles are built in, so Emma’s team just adds their text, a header image and any images they want inside the article. Every post comes out on brand, and nobody has to fix fonts or formatting.
The response
API launched the new website to its team and partners at the Partners Lunch. The response was strong, and partners asked for landing pages of their own.
“Clark designed and built our website, an investor quiz, an AI assistant and a design system that turns written drafts into designed ebooks. The website is a huge improvement for potential clients to understand their options, get useful guidance and take the next step when they’re ready.”
“This is brilliant. You’ve really captured how to keep our leads warm and nudge them along.”
