Spellmans’ Social is a warm, lively café where good coffee, great food and community spirit meet, inspired by Ryan and Emily Spellman’s Irish roots.

The challenge
Ryan and Emily envisioned a café that felt like an extension of themselves. Welcoming, fun-loving and deeply rooted in Irish charm. They needed branding and a website that would reflect their vibrant personalities, love of music and sense of community, while creating a recognisable identity that stood out in a crowded hospitality scene.
The approach
I began by building on the siblings’ moodboard, merging their references with insights into their personalities and Irish heritage. This evolved into a visual identity anchored in a strong green and gold palette, symbolising both eco-conscious values and Irish tradition. The logo took form as a hand-drawn “SS” monogram, an iconic mark blending timeless pub culture with modern simplicity, versatile enough for signage, merchandise, coffee cups and beer glasses. The website design complemented this with clean layouts, bold imagery of food and drinks, and dedicated space for events, reflecting Ryan’s DJ background and the café’s community-driven energy.
The result
The final brand and website bring Spellmans’ Social to life, embodying its founders’ warmth, creativity and heritage. From the monogram to the event-ready website, every touchpoint builds connection and invites locals and newcomers alike to experience the good times that Ryan and Emily envisioned.
